DanceFusion Technique

Want to improve your fluidity, transitions and overall dance technique, all while acquiring new skills and learning choreography? This is the class for you! In this class we will work on basic, intermediate and advanced dance techniques in styles such as: Modern, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary to help you become that versatile dancer you see on the stage and TV (ex: so you think you can dance). This class may not always be easy, but the outcome will be well worth it! -Please wear fitted bottoms and a comfortable but not too baggy top, socks will be sometimes needed.

Lyrical dance is a combination of Jazz and Ballet. Much like Jazz you will begin with a warm-up that focuses on strength, flexibility and terminology. Movements in lyrical dance are characterized by fluidity and grace, with the dancer flowing seamlessly from one move to another, holding finishing steps as long as possible. Come take this class to paint strong emotions using your body as a canvas.

Contemporary can be very similar to Lyrical, however Contemporary dance is the exploration of the total movement potential of the body. Unlike other forms of dance, it is not bound by set standards or defined styles. Instead, it seeks to express a personalized vision, often through experimentation and collaboration, in exploring new choreographic possibilities. It derives its techniques from both classical and modern dance, either updating or distorting them, resulting in a hybrid form derived from literature, architecture, visual arts, circus and other artistic disciplines.
